Overview

If your QR Code doesn't scan, there are usually a few common causes.

Most issues can be resolved quickly.

Check the print quality

Low-resolution or blurry QR Codes can be difficult to scan.

Whenever possible, use the SVG version for professional printing.

Check the size

Very small QR Codes may not scan reliably.

If possible, print the QR Code larger and test again.

Check the contrast

QR Codes should have strong contrast between the foreground and background.

Avoid:

  • Light colours
  • Reflective materials
  • Patterned backgrounds

Check the quiet zone

Every QR Code requires empty space around all four sides.

Text or graphics placed too close can interfere with scanning.

Test with multiple devices

Try scanning using:

  • An iPhone
  • An Android device
  • Different lighting conditions

If none of the devices can scan the QR Code, it may need to be regenerated.
