Do QR Codes Expire?
Whether a QR Code expires depends on the type of QR Code you've created.

Overview
Whether a QR Code expires depends on the type of QR Code you've created.
Static QR Codes
Static QR Codes do not expire.
Because the destination is permanently stored inside the QR Code, it continues working as long as the destination itself remains available.
Smart QR Codes
Smart QR Codes remain active while they are available within your Sqanna account.
Because Smart QR Codes use Sqanna to redirect visitors, they depend on the Smart QR Code service rather than storing the destination directly inside the QR Code.
What happens if my destination changes?
This is exactly what Smart QR Codes are designed to solve.
Instead of creating and printing a new QR Code, simply update the destination from your dashboard.
Existing printed QR Codes continue working.
What if I delete a Smart QR Code?
If a Smart QR Code is deleted, previously printed copies will no longer be able to redirect visitors.
If you're unsure whether a QR Code is still in use, consider keeping it active until you're certain it is no longer needed.
Best practices
- Avoid deleting QR Codes that may still be printed.
- Give QR Codes descriptive names so they're easy to identify.
- Update destinations instead of creating duplicate QR Codes whenever possible.
